The current Brno Infrastructure/DevOps team is expanding to become playing much wider role within Group IS organization to arrange IT Infrastructure/DevOps Shared Services function be responsible for building and support the organisation's non prod & prod (eCommerce platform) servers, databases, storage, CI/CD tools and end user infrastructure to meet business requirements, adhering to company’s technical standards and security policies including DevOps best practices and Cloud enablement.
This infrastructure comprises multiple Infrastructure as a Service offerings that include compute, storage, network, security, backup, load balancing, operating systems, orchestration, automation, cloud based hosting – some services for the environments are provided in cooperation with suppliers/vendors.

What will you do?

  • Technical leadership of Linux Project team and be responsible for IT Infra management of production, problem management and production incidents management within SLA including 24/7 support assurance – Linux SysAdm Project stream
  • Driving the Technology roadmap and Service Improvement programme for IT Infra – Linux Sys. Adm. Project stream
  • Leading the involvement of Linux Sys. Adm. Project team within IT Infra projects.
  • System Administration and DevOps Service/Function
  • Involvement within IT Infra/DevOps projects
  • Delivery of IT Infra/DevOps Service Improvement programme ▪ Delivery of IT Infra Technology roadmap
  • Delivery of support in line with SLA and Service quality metrics for Linux Sys. Adm. team
  • Possible to keep our 24/7 on-call rota

What can you achieve in our team?

  • Leading of system of Linux system Project support team
  • You will be part of senior System Administration/DevOps team
  • You will get experience with managing of large-scale production environment/high traffic website (ideally a transactional retail website)
  • You will be a part of innovation group bringing new technologies (Cloud based infra service, Containers – Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Saltstack/Puppet, Graylog, Grafana, etc.) in place
  • You’re welcome to gain our strong Open Source Administration experience

Now you’re probably wondering what skills and knowledge we expect from you? Well…

  • Very strong IT background
  • At least five years experience of System administration, be able to play the role of technical leadership for Linux System Admin stream
  • At least three years experience of TechLead role for Linux System administration or other areas, be able to play the role of leadership for System Admin stream
  • The ability to multitask, to plan own workload and work under pressure, results driven approach
  • Knowledge of container orchestration – (e.g. Kubernetes, Docker Swarm,…)
  • Experience with DevOps tools (e.g. Artifactory, Jenkins, GitLab)
  • Advanced experience of managing IT systems based on Linux, web servers – installing, maintaining and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of some scripting language (Bash, Python, Ruby)
  • Knowledge of web based architecture and technologies (Load-balancing, reverse proxy, caching, HTTP servers)
  • Good working experience with virtualisation platforms (e.g. VMware)

Optional skills

  • Experience with cloud platform (e.g. Azure, AWS, Google Cloud,… )
  • Experience with configuration management platforms (e.g. Puppet, SaltStack)
  • Experience with maintain of Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket)
  • Knowledge of server and application monitoring systems (e.g. Nagios/Neamon, AppDynamics, Grafana)
